Fall Lawn Care After A Tough Summer

Our lawns have taken a lot of heat this summer! Heat makes grass thin out making the roots weaker and vulnerable to diseases…...a great opportunity for weeds to invade.

So how do you fix this problem? You do so by using a high potassium fertilizer in the Fall. In September the grass is coming out of a stressful summer and trying to recover. A fertilizer that has a higher potassium rate makes the grassroots stronger. The last number on the fertilizer bag is the potassium number.

When is the best time to fertilize? The best time is before the leaves fall.
